My head and heart are in constant conflict,
They pass me messages difficult to decrypt.
When the heart wants to philosophize,
The head wants to theorize and rationalize.
I try to intervene, to find a middle ground,
To reach a result and resolution that is sound.
But, its impossible to convince them both,
Sometimes it seems, they, each-other loathe.
When the heart says speak, the head says stop.
When the head says go, the heart says drop.
When the heart says sleep some more,
The head reminds of all the chores in store.
When the heart says dance in the rain,
Head reminds of times spontaneity ended in pain.
When the heart says- make a new start,
Head warns not to put the horse before the cart.
When the heart says take it easy,
The head begins to make me queasy.
When the heart says there is one life to live,
The head instructs to measure take and give.

This is a classic dilemma of our humanness and you captured all the shades of it beautifully. So much peace comes once we become skilled at closing this gap between the head and the heart π
P.S. I am so thrilled to find your posts as I do my daily reading through the reader feed. Wishing you continued happiness with blogging π

Thanks dear. One of the main reasons for starting the blog was the feedback by friends like yourself that they want to find all my poems in one place and read them from there. π
